Emergency Services

Details about Emergency Services.

The Emergency Department at the Institute of Kidney Diseases (IKD) has been an integral part of our facility since its inception, providing around-the-clock care every day of the year. Our Emergency Department operates 24/7, staffed by a dedicated team of both urologists and nephrologists, ensuring that patients with critical and acute kidney-related conditions receive immediate and specialized medical attention.

Upon arrival, patients are evaluated promptly, and those requiring urgent care are stabilized with the support of free emergency medications and necessary treatments. Our department is well-equipped to handle a high volume of cases, averaging 70-80 patients daily. We have 10 specialized emergency beds, each with oxygen support and continuous monitoring systems, enabling our team to provide the highest level of critical care.

Once patients are stable and a preliminary diagnosis has been established, they are either admitted to the relevant departments – such as our urology or nephrology wards – for further specialized treatment, or discharged if inpatient care is not required. Patients sent home receive follow-up through our Outpatient Clinics, where they are closely monitored and managed to ensure ongoing recovery.

At the IKD Emergency Department, we are committed to offering compassionate and comprehensive emergency care, equipped with the latest technology and a skilled medical team to meet the urgent needs of our community.
